Laboratory Engineer in Seed Analysis

Do you want to work closely with research and development and help advance a new initiative in seed analysis? We are now looking for a Laboratory Engineer in Svalöv who wants to contribute with their expertise, engagement, and curiosity in a context where quality, sustainability, and future crops are at the center.

Agriculture is the heart of Lantmännen's unique value chain from field to fork, a business that is the foundation of our broad group. In this role, you will be part of a team that lays the groundwork for new analytical methods and working practices directly linked to plant breeding and innovation.

Your Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Engineer, you will work operationally with sample preparation and analysis of seeds, such as health and mold analyses. You will ensure that analyses are conducted with high quality and in accordance with established methods, standards, and safety procedures. Documentation and reporting of results will be done according to both internal and external requirements.

You will also be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and care of laboratory equipment, as well as contributing to quality assurance of working methods and processes. The work will be done in close collaboration with plant breeders, project teams, and colleagues within the laboratory operations, where the analyses serve as an important basis for decision-making in development work.

This initiative offers good opportunities to contribute to the further development of working methods and techniques in close collaboration with the team, where improvement work and learning are a natural part of everyday life.

The position is located in Svalöv and you will report to the head of laboratory services.

What You Need to Succeed and Thrive

You have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in biology, agronomy, chemistry, or equivalent, or comparable work experience.
  • Experience in laboratory work, preferably focusing on seed analysis or quality control.
  • Good understanding of laboratory standards and safety procedures.
  • Experience in documenting and reporting results in a structured and meticulous manner.

It is an advantage if you have experience with seed, health, or mold analyses, as well as if you have previously worked with method development or been involved in the initiation of new analytical processes.

You are:

  • Detail-oriented and quality-conscious with a structured approach.
  • Independent in your work but enjoy collaborating with others and contribute to a positive team climate.
  • Solution-oriented and curious, with a desire to learn and develop both yourself and the organization.
  • Responsible and confident in prioritizing and delivering even when the pace is high at times.

Of course, you share our values - Openness, Holistic View, Action Orientation - and our promise to take responsibility from field to fork.

What We Offer You

Lantmännen is a large international group with a unique breadth in our operations. This means we can offer development opportunities in many different areas and companies in more than 20 countries. We actively work with internal mobility and want to contribute to our employees' growth, both in their roles and as individuals. Growing together from field to fork!

Does this sound interesting?

We hope so! You can apply for the position online, preferably as soon as possible since selection is ongoing, but no later than January 31. In your application, you have the opportunity to attach your CV and cover letter or link to your LinkedIn profile. To create a fair and inclusive recruitment process, we also ask you to answer selection questions relevant to the position. During the process, we use psychometric tests and competency-based interviews to ensure an objective and accurate assessment.

A background check will be conducted for the final candidate. If you have any questions about the position or the process, please feel free to contact Henrik Ask, Head of Laboratory Services, at [email protected].
